Chart Options

Overview

This page documents the various options available through the chart editor. In the Classic version of MarketSight, options marked with a blue asterisk only affect exports to PowerPoint. Options marked with a green asterisk affect both PowerPoint exports and the online chart display.

Changing your chart options will occasionally produce option conflicts. Generally, these occur when:

Change Labeling In Your Chart

  1. When viewing the chart, click on Format Data Points in the gray toolbar (classic), adjust the labels as desired
  2. When viewing the chart, click on the Edit button > Format Data Points (new), adjust the labels as desired
  3. Click OK to confirm

Note: Changes to your chart labeling are saved with the chart and affect only the one chart. It does not change the labels in your underlying crosstab.

Change Colors for Individual Data Points

  1. When viewing the chart, click on Format Data Points in the gray toolbar (classic), click the colored square next to the item you wish to change the color for
  2. When viewing the chart, click on the Edit button > Format Data Points (new), click the colored square next to the item you wish to change the color for
  3. Select a websafe color from the palette, or
  4. Enter in hex code/RGB values on the Custom Color tab
  5. Click OK

Note: This option is only available when working with a single data series.
